All things must end, even mediocre missives published over a dying medium at increasingly sporadic intervals. In other words, I'm retiring this blog. It's not for any one reason, but I'm doing an overhaul of my digital presence in light of my impending career change and it just makes sense. As I cull and lock down my remaining social media accounts (seems like a great opportunity to just yeet Twitter altogether), the idea to burn it all down and start fresh sounds tempting, freeing even. I don't think I'm quite ready for that, but it just feels right to close this chapter.
I don't think I'm finished blogging forever, but a deliberate break is never a bad idea. I'll keep the archives available, and I'm sure that I'll regale you with half-assed photoessays on my private social media accounts here and there, but Saul Good and Co. is going the way of Joyberry Pie and Bathtubmary (if you don't know about that one you weren't supposed to) before her. It's been a great run.
Thank you all for reading and commenting and indulging me as I indulged my own sads and outrage and weird obsessions and changes over the many years. One day in the not-so-far future I'm sure you'll see me post a link from a ridiculously named platform and you'll be like, "Ah, let's go see what swear word granny couldn't help but spew into the void." Until then, I just want you to know it's been a gift, having the ability to infiltrate each other's lives from afar, and I am grateful for my tiny fierce community.
Fare-thee-well, my darlings.
I haven't been online much myself for quite a few months (busy living life with a dash of marital issues that are thankfully resolving) but I just wanted to officially say goodbye! I have enjoyed reading everything you have written and you are damn good with words! I hope to one day see a notification that you are publishing your first novel! Until then I hope to see posts on FB and if you ever blog again I can only hope I will be lucky to read your words once again! Take care lady!
